Rictameter of Love
The first is a standard rictameter form, i.e. 2,4,6,8,10,8,6,4,2, first and last lines repeated. The second is a reverse of the form. The idea I had was that the two should work as separate verses but also work when joined together make a poem of its own - much as human beings, we work as individuals but when joined together we make a yet another ‘poem’.
The interlocking shape is also suggestive.
laying~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ in a hollow of soft green summer grass
between my legs~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ caressed by the dappled sunshine
drowsy after loving~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ in the somnolent air
your head resting on my middle~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ bodies entwined
clock snatching away minute by minute~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ wishing
our too precious time together~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ time eternal
we moved and loved again~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ensnared in each other
then continued~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ with spangles of sunlight dancing
laying~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ in a hollow of soft green summer grass
