The Great Escape

by jojo52 @ 2006-03-03 - 19:09:08

I took my ipod out for its first stroll today. In fact the girlie and I podwalked to work/college (they are near to each other so we can walk most of the way together) and I met her afterwards and we podwalked back home again. Different music of course but in fact the music is largely interchangeable as we both like a lot of the same stuff. Which reminds me, I have a stack of CD’s to import. Starting with Cat Stevens……..

Anyhow back to the news bulletin

Well there isn’t much news. Nothing much new anyway. Oh except that I was asked to stand for the committee of the drama society I belong to. I’m not much a committee type really – that’s way too responsible and serious – but I said I would. Oh like I need another string to my bow. Well maybe I do. How many bowstrings is a goodly amount do we think.

There was definitely a little snow in the air today but nothing like the six foot depth a friend was prognosticating last night – well he was wrong! It was cold though and without the benefit of being pretty and providing a decent enough excuse not to go into work. Work is dull as poo, well today it was. I have discovered since moving to another site from the manager (who I shall refer to as Tinkerbell Kitten) that because I don’t get quite so many interruptions now I actually finish stuff too quick. There is a distinct danger that this may get noticed and then more will come my way. Ooooooh no! I have enough savvy to keep a large pile of papers on my desk so it still looks like I have plenty to do. But in fact they are plans. Escape plans. We are building three tunnels, Tom, Dick and Harry – oh poodles, that plot’s been done! Well we can call them something else. Tunnel A, tunnel B and tunnel C has a nice ring to it.

Huddle closer and I shall whisper this.

Shh, don’t tell anyone, but if you open the cupboards in the staff room you will find the entrance to tunnel B. I can’t tell you where the rest are.

Oh enough of the madness already!

Communication is down

by jojo52 @ 2006-03-03 - 00:00:01

Oh like I have so much of great importance that I need to post twice in one day. But it's been a peculiar sort of day.

I should have gone dancing tonight. Now here is a demonstration of my utter strangeness. The lady that gives me a lift usually rings me on dancing night to sort out when to pick me up but she didn't ring. So any normal person would look up her number and give her ring. Me - no! The too difficult light comes on when telephones are involved. Any sort of communication really. What is my problem. Like picking up a phone is so difficult. Result - I have spent the evening drifting around. Admittedly I do have my ipod to fill up and the girlie has been helping me to organise myself so the time has been put to good use. But I think I do have a problem with communication. I am a responder not an activator.

Does anyone else have this kind of problem? Oh dear it's late, maybe I should just go sleepies instead of pondering the imponderables!
